Thanks to Butter Side Down and some great volunteers our barn-raising went off without a hitch. We were able to weatherize the 3 floor apartment building at 16 Birch Street on November 19th from the basement to the top floor. After all the work was complete BSD fed all the volunteers and we celebrated our participation in helping people stay warm for the winter and meeting new faces gathered together for the same cause, community.

    Unfortunately, earlier this month our kickstarter video was rejected which was to obtain the rest of the funds we needed to by video equipment for the Barnraisers.  However, this has led to a wonderful opportunity.  We will be taking the $500 from the MCAN grant plus the $300 we raised through chip-in and working with a wonderful new film co-op that is starting here in Worcester.  They will help us fulfill our commitment to make 4-5 fun and educational videos about energy conservation and also local Worcester organizations.
    The co-op has already generated some fatastic ideas, and we should see the first video very soon!

    Recently, the WEB  received a grant from MA Climate Action Network for video equipment to expand our education and outreach to the diverse residents of Worcester and beyond. We have nifty ideas for short, engaging, informative videos to market over social media and some more substantive shows for local access TV, many of them highlighting our collaboration with other groups in Worcester that work to raise awareness of and address issues of environmental health & justice (the Regional Environmental Council; the Habitat for Humanity Restore store; a local Sierra Club Team, etc.)
